Here's the administrative instructions for Camp Steel:

Day: Wednesday and Thursday
Date: 24 and 25 February 2010
Venue: NCC Campus- Amoy Quee Camp
Time: 7am- 6pm

INTRODUCTION. As part of the Enhanced NCC Experience Framework, NCC aims to contribute more effectively towards the desired outcomes of MOE and MINDEF by developing the character of our young cadets early and preparing them to become responsible and empathetic leaders. Hence the proposal for Camp STEEL (Acronym for Standards, Tenacity, Emotional Intelligence, Energy and Leadership), for all Part B cadets as another of the NCC’s contributions to youth development.

OBJECTIVES. The main objectives of Camp STEEL are to instill core values and self-discipline as well as to build the character and confidence of our Secondary Two NCC Cadets through military-related activities, in order to adequately prepare them for further leadership training in the Upper Secondary Level. Activities include Leadership and Self-Awareness Workshops, rappelling, orienteering, paintball, physical fitness training and situational stations.

FUNDING. HQ NCC will bear the entire cost of the camp at the NCC Campus. If cadets fail to attend the camp without a valid reason he will have to pay $17.50 for the ration.

TRANSPORT. There will be transport through and fro from Amoy Quee Camp and back to school.

CADETS’ ATTIRE AND STANDARDS. Participants are to be in No 4 Uniform and to bring along Sports/PT attire. This includes T-shirt, shorts or track pants, sports/canvas shoes, socks and cap. Sandals will only be allowed in the evenings.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES. All cadets are reminded that camera handphones, cameras, Lap-tops, PDAs are not permitted in the camp. This also includes storage cards eg. SDcard and any other storage devices like mp3. However non-camera phones are allowed into the NCC Campus.

MEALS. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and night snacks will be indented for Muslim, Non-Muslim and Vegetarian cadets for the whole duration of the camp.

ACCOMMODATION. It is HQ NCC’s policy that all male and female accommodation will be separated. All females’ bunk will be located at BLK 245 (4th Level) and strictly restricted to all male personnel. Non compliance to the policy will be disciplinarily dealt with.

H1N1 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES. To minimize the risk of H1N1 and other infectious diseases, all participants are required to take their temperature before the camp. The accompanying Teacher Officer of each school is to ensure that cadets who have fever are not allowed to participate and a replacement cadet is sent instead. All cadets are reminded to bring their own personal thermometers. Temperature checking will be conducted twice daily, at 1200 hrs and 2100 hrs. Cadets with high fever will be sent to the medical centre and parents will be informed immediately.

HYDRATION PLAN. Cadets will drink water during water parades conducted by the conducting officer before, during and after strenuous activities to prevent heat injury.

CONTACT NUMBERS. The following are important contact numbers:

a. Ops Room HQ NCC 64834045/64773530

b. Training Branch 64773519/64773522

I will pass the consent form and packing list to your tomorrow during training. Please get it sign and pass to me monday after school.

Stay Vigilant, Be Resilient

okay im glad today that your did 120 one shot
continue to work harder and strive hard
always remember what we say
remember your mental strength: PUSH YOURSELF TO THE LIMITS!

Chapter 2:

At the back of the pencil there is always a eraser there
The eraser is for you to erase the mistakes that u have made in writing
likewise, it is to erase your mistakes in life
however, the eraser is very short.
You cant be the one always making mstakes and expect that there is a eraser will erase for you
one Day the eraser will be used finish
So the moral of this chapter is that it is okay to make some mistakes
but make sure that you learn from it and remember the lesson learnt
You can't be always making the same mistake again and again, do you?

Chapter 3:

When the pencil is blunt, you cannot write anymore.
The pencil will then be needed to be sharpen in order for it to to write again.
We all know that shapening is pain like the 120 your did today
but after the sharpening you will improve.
The moral of this chapter is that you will sometimes have to go through pain in order to improve or get better.
so i want all of your to remember that next time when you go through any tough times in your life, take it as a experience for you to strengten yourself and get better.

With only 2 more chapters to go with your, our time with your will be getting lesser and lesser.
So pls go and train up and show us what your are really are!

Hey , today we just completed 120 . I think many of you out there didn't know you had the ability to do that many. But this just proves you all wrong about yourselves. So next time, if you think you can't do something, think again. This might also be a wake up call to some of you to train up. I know alot ppl like seniors always say say say also dun care de la. I hope yall will change lor ... & I hope that our part will become a better part. Okay anyways , tmr is welcome party for part a . I don't know about you all but im looking forward to it. On friday there will be dinner provided for the welcome party
So please inform all your parents most likely your will go home slightly later
Details will be confirmed and message will be passed down again
I understand that some of you have tuition on every friday
Those that have tuition i would suggest that on the day itself your will eat the dinner faster
Do stay for the dinner itself as your would have already paid for it already
